📝 Introduction

The beauty of nature intertwines with art to create a unique and eye-catching space.

📖 Details

"Qingjincanyon" is a gorge formed by cliffs that extend over 100 meters high, through which the "Qingjin River" flows. The rugged rock walls and the lush green stream create a beautiful contrast, and due to its enchanting scenery, it is listed as one of the "Three Great Gorges of Japan." The rock walls, formed by magma 5 million years ago, have undergone repeated uplift and erosion, resulting in a unique topography that showcases the spectacular wonders of nature. From the recently renovated "Qingjincanyon Valley Tunnel," visitors can enjoy views of Qingjincanyon. During the "Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale," the world's largest international art festival held in Tokamachi City and Tsunan Town in Niigata Prefecture, three observation points designed by Chinese architect Ma Yansong/MAD Architects, along with the "Panorama Station" at the deepest point, create a unique space that combines the beauty of nature with art, making it a popular spot for capturing one-of-a-kind stunning photographs. Additionally, the scenery viewed from the "Panorama Station," which showcases the diverse landscapes of the four seasons, is also a highlight. In spring and summer, there is a dense greenery of tender buds; in autumn, the treetops are adorned with red and orange hues of autumn leaves; and in winter, the white snow creates a black-and-white world reminiscent of an ink painting. Qingjincanyon is also a hot spring area with accommodations. The entrance on the second floor of the facility features a foot bath created using the hot spring water that flows from within the tunnel.
