About Yamanoue
Kanazawa's representative ryokan offers a culinary experience that will leave even the most discerning gourmets longing for more, allowing you to fully enjoy Kaga cuisine.
Details
Yamanoo is a traditional ryokan (inn) and restaurant established in 1890. The first owner was a charismatic figure referred to by Kitauji Rosanjin as "the foremost gentleman of Hokuriku, a national guest of Kanazawa, and a master of tea ceremony," attracting food enthusiasts and tea lovers from various regions. To this day, it upholds the spirit of "one guest, one pavilion," offering kaiseki-level cuisine.
During the Edo period, Kanazawa thrived with the wealth of Kaga's one million koku, and cultural practices such as tea ceremony and pottery flourished, creating a unique worldview that was both splendid and imbued with samurai spirit. Seasonal kaiseki cuisine, Kanazawa's renowned kaiseki dishes, Kōbako crab, Jibu-ni set meals, and full-course meals, all featuring exquisite dishes served on Kanazawa's unique tableware known for its traditional craftsmanship, are highly popular. In the luxurious space of the standalone building, guests can enjoy a happy time while gazing at the vibrant atmosphere of Higashi Chaya Street below and the garden unfolding before their eyes.
There are a total of four guest rooms, all spacious and purely Japanese-style. From check-in to check-out, guests will not encounter other patrons, ensuring complete privacy.
