📝 Introduction

Located at the foothills of Mount Daifuki, a symbol of Kurayoshi City, this cherry blossom viewing spot has a history of over a hundred years.

📖 Details

Datsukikōen Park is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in San'in, where cherry blossoms and azaleas bloom beautifully in spring. The park features a playground, baseball field, tennis courts, and is a popular recreational area for the citizens. The park was established in 1904 (Meiji 37) to commemorate Emperor Taisho's visit to San'in Prefecture. The "Hiryūkaku" within the park is registered as a national tangible cultural property. Additionally, there is a small animal area where visitors can see dwarf chickens, rabbits, and other small animals up close. The monkey house on the east side of the square houses Japanese macaques. Datsukikōen Park also offers a special "Liberation Paper" experience. Visitors can write their wishes to let go of the past and future on special paper and release the paper into the park's "Hagoromo Pond." It is said that the failures and memories one wishes to discard will dissolve with the paper in the water. The special Liberation Paper can be purchased at the nearest location, "Akagawara No. 1," or at the "Kurayoshi White Wall Earthen Warehouse Group Tourist Information Center" (including an omamori for 400 yen).
