COCO FARM & WINERY was established in the 1950s. At that time, teachers from a special education class led their students to cultivate vineyards on steep hillsides. Meanwhile, they also set up a support facility for people with disabilities called "Kokoromi Gakuen." The production of wine began in 1984, and since then, they have been dedicated to crafting "Japanese wine" made from 100% domestically produced grapes.
The "COCO ROSE" is moderately sweet and very easy to drink. During the grape cultivation process, no herbicides are used, and during fermentation in the winery, they focus on natural yeast and wild lactic acid bacteria. After years of effort, COCO has developed a unique brewing method that preserves the original flavor of the grapes, producing high-quality wines that are praised by wine enthusiasts. At the summits in 2000 and 2008, COCO's wines were selected as banquet wines, receiving acclaim from dignitaries from various countries.
The lunch menu features local ingredients that pair perfectly with their homemade wines. At the COCO FARM café within the vineyard, you can not only enjoy their delicious homemade wines but also taste a variety of dishes that complement the wines. In addition to selling their own wines and products, the restaurant offers dishes made with local agricultural products. The ingredients are quite diverse, including fresh vegetables and herbs grown at "Kokoromi Gakuen," as well as MARU beef from Ashikaga. The weekday lunch set includes a seasonal main dish, accompanied by salad, bread, and coffee. There are also lunch platters, soups, grilled beef, and French snails, all designed to pair well with wine. Additionally, the café offers a variety of takeout options, including sandwiches. Please take a seat on the beautiful terrace, enjoy the stunning vineyard views, and savor an elegant lunch experience.
