About Funabashiya COREDO Muromachi Store
The kudzu cake, fermented for 450 days, is delicious and nutritious.
Details
Kuzumochi originated in the Edo period and is the only lacto-fermented food among wagashi (Japanese sweets), with its unique chewy texture being widely loved by the public. Funabashiya's kuzumochi is made from carefully selected wheat starch that has undergone 450 days of lactic acid fermentation. Because the kuzumochi is made fresh and sold immediately without any chemical food additives, its shelf life is only 2 days. As a health food made from all-natural ingredients, it is very popular. In addition to kuzumochi, the shop also offers other Japanese sweets such as red bean paste and honey.
Highlights
After 450 days of fermentation, the kuzu mochi is said to have a beneficial effect on the stomach and intestines. Since no food chemical additives are used, the shelf life is only 2 days. Kuzu mochi is made from carefully selected ingredients such as wheat flour, soybeans, and brown sugar. The COREDO Muromachi store's exclusive "Matcha Kuzu Mochi (with tea)" is a must-try item on the menu.
