Jōdōji Mountain is known as one of the three mountains of Onomichi, with an elevation of 178.8 meters. The Jōdōji Mountain observation deck is built at the summit. From the observation deck, you can overlook the cityscape of Onomichi, the Onomichi Strait, the shipyards on Mukojima, and the islands along the Shimanami Kaido coast. You can enjoy various beautiful sceneries that change with the seasons, such as cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, and the stunning autumn foliage. The Jōdōji Mountain observation deck is also a famous spot for watching sunsets and night views, where you can take in the colorful, twinkling urban nightscape filled with a romantic atmosphere. From the main hall of Jōdōji Temple at the foot of the mountain to the Okuyama near the summit, there is a small path called "Kannon Path," lined with 33 Jizō statues, and there is an observation deck called "Fudō Rock Observation Deck" that features a statue of Fudō Myōō. You can climb this observation deck built on a massive rock, which is quite thrilling, and enjoy the distant views. Additionally, the Okuyama near the summit is also a well-known viewpoint, offering a panoramic view of the Onomichi Strait.

Take a bus from JR Onomichi Station to Jodoji, which takes about 10 minutes (to the "Jodoji Shita" stop). Then walk along the "Kannon no Komichi" path on the east side of Jodoji for about 30 minutes.
