Koyasu Shrine (子安神社) is located in Hachioji, Tokyo, and is the oldest shrine in the Hachioji area. It was established in 759 AD to bless the Emperor and Empress at the time for a safe childbirth. Today, it is renowned for its blessings related to safe delivery and healthy child-rearing. Throughout the year, Koyasu Shrine holds various festivals, most of which are related to childbirth and raising children. Based on the activities held, the shrine offers special commemorative goshuin (御朱印) that are exclusively made for the festivals. Because these are limited editions and feature particularly exquisite designs, many visitors line up early in the morning during the festival periods to obtain them.

It is said to be a shrine that is particularly effective in blessing safe childbirth and child-rearing. Throughout the year, many festival activities are held. The beautifully designed limited edition 御朱印 (Goshuin) is very popular. Every spring, a romantic night cherry blossom viewing event with illuminations takes place.
