📝 Introduction
A submarine-type sightseeing boat navigating Lake Motosu.
📖 Details
The sightseeing boat "Moguran" at Lake Motosu is a submarine-style tour boat that operates in Lake Motosu, the westernmost of the Fuji Five Lakes. Although it resembles a submarine, it cannot actually dive to the bottom, hence the name "Moguran" (which in Japanese implies "unable to submerge"). Its structure is entirely based on submarine specifications, featuring a design reminiscent of a yellow submarine. The exterior and interior are primarily yellow, complemented by trendy elements of blue and red, creating a charming appearance for this tour boat.
Onboard, there are fun designs such as a periscope, round windows, and communication tubes for talking between the interior and the deck. It is equipped with a fish finder to check the status of fish schools and real-time water depth, and you can also look through the bottom windows to see the fish swimming below. In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery, there are other interesting features to explore. Lake Motosu is home to koi, hime masu (Japanese char), niji masu (rainbow trout), and shubun (a type of fish), all of which can be observed through the bottom windows.
The view from the deck is delightful. Lake Motosu is the deepest and one of the most beautiful lakes among the Fuji Five Lakes, with excellent water quality and a transparency of about 12 meters. On clear days, you can also enjoy stunning views of Mount Fuji.
While appreciating the beautiful scenery and experiencing various onboard facilities, the approximately 25-minute tour passes by quickly. It is worth mentioning that "motorboats are prohibited" around Lake Motosu, allowing for safe swimming and fishing.
