In the late Edo period, the ruling Edo shogunate returned power to the emperor, an event known as "Taisei Hokan." One of the key figures that facilitated this event was Sakamoto Ryoma. It is said that his ability to achieve great things stemmed from his inclusive mindset, allowing him to seriously listen to opinions from completely different circles and adapt flexibly. In his short life of only 31 years, Sakamoto Ryoma passionately traveled around for the future of Japan, utilizing his exceptional charisma and extensive network to make an indelible contribution to the establishment of the Meiji government.

With the help of the Satsuma Domain and wealthy merchants from Nagasaki, Japan's first trading company, "Kameyama Shachu," was established.
He acted as a mediator between the Satsuma Domain and the Choshu Domain, facilitating the formation of the "Satsuma-Choshu Alliance."
He proposed the "Taisei Hokan Plan," which suggested not to engage in a civil war but to return power from the shogunate to the emperor, thus creating the opportunity to end the Edo period and enter the Meiji Restoration.
