📝 Introduction
The famous Nagoya dish "Miso Katsu Don" originated from this renowned restaurant.
📖 Details
Founded in 1949, this renowned old shop is famous for its origin of Miso Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl. It is said that when it first opened, it primarily served kaiseki cuisine and only offered Miso Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl during lunch hours. There used to be a cinema nearby, and the stars who came to greet the audience on stage also enjoyed this shop's Miso Fried Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl.
The miso sauce, which is the lifeblood of the restaurant, has been passed down through generations, carrying a deep flavor. The freshly fried pork cutlet is soaked in the sauce and then simmered on low heat, allowing the flavors to penetrate. The miso has a moderate sweetness and rich flavor, making it a perfect match for white rice.
One of the specialties is adding an egg on top of the pork cutlet. You start by enjoying the original flavor, and halfway through, you break the egg, which makes the miso taste even richer and smoother, creating a sensation that you'll never tire of. Additionally, you can add green onions and extra eggs as toppings.
The Miso Fried Shrimp Rice Bowl, seasoned with miso, is also very popular. It reminds one of the shining "Kinshachi" on the roof of Nagoya Castle, and photos of this rice bowl frequently appear on social media.
