🗺️ VILLA D'EST Garden Farm and Winery

The winery and restaurant operated by the Japanese prose writer and painter, Toyo Tamura, is located at an altitude of 850 meters, offering a view of the northern Alps from the southern slope vineyard. Various grape varieties, including Merlot and Chardonnay, are cultivated here for winemaking. The wines produced, utilizing the climate of Tōmi, have won awards in various competitions and have received high praise both domestically and internationally. Winery tours are currently suspended, but there are multiple QR codes throughout the park, allowing visitors to use a "self-guided tour" to learn more. The winery also features a café that offers seasonal dishes made from vegetables and herbs picked from the garden, as well as vegetables sourced from local farmers, along with a wine tasting service (for a fee). In addition to the original wines, the winery shop sells juices, tableware and goods featuring Toyo Tamura's artwork, and other original products. The café's basement also houses a gallery displaying Mr. Tamura's paintings, which is worth a visit for appreciation.
