🗺️ Hokusei Lavender Garden

The landmark "Hokuseiyama" in central Furano is a popular ski resort in winter, and its mid-mountain area is transformed into a lavender garden, allowing visitors to enjoy a beautiful sea of flowers in summer. The garden is home to four varieties of lavender, with the best viewing period from mid-July to early August. In addition to the commonly seen purple variety, there is also the white lavender "Miyoshi Yuki Hana," gifted from Miyoshi Town in Akita Prefecture, blooming near the observation deck at the summit; this precious variety can only be found here in all of Hokkaido. From May to August, during the opening period, visitors can not only admire the lavender but also enjoy a variety of colorful flowers such as sunflowers, marigolds, sage, and begonias in full bloom. In addition to walking to the flower fields, visitors can take a scenic gondola ride that takes about 7 minutes to reach the summit. From the gondola, you can enjoy the expansive view of the flower fields below; the panoramic view of the Tokachi mountain range and the tranquil rural landscape of Nakafurano from the top is also worth seeing.

The lavender garden located on Beixing Mountain features four varieties of lavender, as well as fields of sunflowers and marigolds. At the summit, rare white lavender is also in bloom. You can easily enjoy the beautiful scenery by taking the cable car to the top of the mountain.
