Opened in 2015, the Yatai Village is located on Kokusai Street, a must-visit during your trip to Okinawa. Here, you can find a variety of restaurants serving Okinawan cuisine and creative dishes made with local ingredients, making it a popular food destination that is always bustling with people, day or night. Yatai Village features over 20 establishments. In addition to restaurants specializing in Okinawan cuisine, there are sushi shops using GURUKUN (a fish from Okinawa) and smallmouth bass, as well as gyoza made with Agu pork and Ishigaki beef steaks. Almost all dishes served by the vendors use locally produced ingredients. True to Okinawa's inclusive spirit that embraces diverse cultures, the village gathers many unique and creative dining options. Many shops open at 11 AM, allowing visitors to enjoy drinks during the day or hop from one place to another for food, which is one of its charms. In the center of the Yatai Village, there is a plaza and stage that hosts local performances, including island songs and traditional Okinawan dances from both the main island and surrounding islands, as well as live singing and other events.
