🎨 Attraction Gallery
📝 Introduction
A nostalgic theme park immersed in the world of movies.
📖 Details
The "Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village" is themed around the famous Japanese film "Twenty-Four Eyes," transforming outdoor filming locations into a theme park dedicated to Japanese cinema and literature. The film depicts the bond between a female teacher and her 12 students, written by the author Sakae Tsuboi, who hails from Shodoshima. Located along a coastline with a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea, the village covers approximately 10,000 square meters, recreating a small village from the late Taisho and early Showa periods. The wooden schoolhouse, the male teacher's home, a fisherman's house, a tea house, and a gift shop are lined up in a landscape reminiscent of the buildings featured in the famous film, exuding a nostalgic atmosphere from the Taisho and Showa eras.
Inside the village, the "Tsuboi Sakae Literary Museum" showcases items beloved by the original author, the authentic manuscript of "Twenty-Four Eyes," and several first editions of her works. The "Gyarō Shōchikuza Movie Theater" continuously screens the film "Twenty-Four Eyes." In recent years, stars from the golden age of Japanese cinema have appeared on the 54-meter-long wall art known as the "Movie Art Wall," along with the popular "Love Dance Party" that has taken social media by storm, and the display of permanent works from the Setouchi Triennale, all of which are highly talked about.
Additionally, there is the "Cafe Movie Club," famous for its nostalgic Showa-era lunch sets, and the Book Café "Shoshi Umikaze-do," where visitors can enjoy a rich cup of coffee while browsing through books and DVDs related to films, providing a perfect setting to spend a leisurely day.
