🗺️ Zanpa Cape

Cape Zanpa, located in the central part of Okinawa's main island in Yomitan Village, extends eastward into the sea. The cliffs, approximately 30 meters high, stretch for about 2 kilometers, and the white waves crashing against the cliffs create a breathtaking sight. Standing at the tip of the cape is a giant white lighthouse, 31 meters tall. It is open for visitors, and from the observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding sea, as well as the nearby islands of Akajima and Kumejima. This is a very popular sightseeing spot; if you want to capture both the lighthouse and the cape in one shot, the observation deck in front offers the best composition. Additionally, it is the place on Okinawa's main island where the sunset occurs the latest, so it’s worth staying until evening to wait for the perfect moment to take a photo. In front of the lighthouse, there is a park with walking trails that allow you to enjoy seasonal flowers and a "Rest Area" equipped with children's playground equipment. The "Zanpa Great Shisa," standing at 8.75 meters tall, is the largest Okinawan shisa in Japan and is definitely worth seeing. On the south side of Cape Zanpa, Zanpa Beach features white sandy shores, making it a great spot for those looking to enjoy a swim in the sea.
