🗺️ Atami Heiwa-dori Shopping Street

Atami City is one of Japan's top hot spring destinations, boasting an abundance of high-temperature springs. The Atami Heiwa Shopping Street is located right in front of the JR Atami Station, which serves as the local transportation hub. Here, you will find a variety of shops selling local specialties from Atami, Izu, and Shizuoka, as well as snacks like onsen manju (hot spring buns). There are also dining establishments offering delicious Atami cuisine. Another feature of the shopping street is the free hand bath available at "Fukufuku no Yu." The source of the spring is called "Fukufuku Onsen," which flows from 300 meters underground at a temperature of 76.7°C. The hand bath adjusts the water temperature to around 40°C, allowing visitors to easily enjoy the warmth of Atami's hot springs. It is open for free use from 10 AM to 5 PM, so be sure to soak your hands here and feel the warmth of the onsen. Next to the hand bath, there is a smiling "Yume Kake Jizo" statue, which brings a sense of calm to those soaking their hands. Don't forget to take a look at it when you visit the shopping street.
