📜 Restaurant Details
Banya Honkan is a restaurant located in the fishing port of the Bōsō Peninsula's Bō area, facing the Uraga Channel of Tokyo Bay. As it is directly operated by the local fishing association, all the seafood served is guaranteed to be fresh. A large water tank is set up at the entrance to keep the seasonal fresh fish caught in the morning, making them appear as if they are still swimming in the sea.
The types of seafood offered may vary depending on the weather or the catch, so it is recommended to check the water tank labeled "Today's Recommendation." The dishes provided are not only very simple and authentic, but the seasoning and cooking methods are also meticulously crafted to bring out the original freshness of the ingredients, with generous portions. Over half of the diners who visit the restaurant tend to order the three kinds of sashimi platter for 880 yen, or the six kinds of sashimi platter for 1595 yen, which are delightfully affordable. The deep-fried mixed seafood made with local seafood (880 yen) and the fisherman’s rice bowl topped with marinated sashimi (1320 yen) are also must-try dishes. Additionally, for just an extra 250 yen, you can turn any single dish into a set meal that includes white rice, miso soup, and pickles.
After enjoying a satisfying meal, you can visit the connected souvenir shop for some shopping fun, or spend a leisurely relaxing time at the nearby "Banya no Yu" hot spring (600 yen for middle school students and above, 300 yen for elementary school students over 4 years old, free for children under 3).
