🗺️ Daoshiyu Tea in Nanshan Castle Village, Kyoto

The only mountain village in Kyoto Prefecture, "Minamiyamashiro Village," has a roadside rest area. There are several facilities where visitors can experience village life firsthand, among which the most popular is the "Nomon Market (のもん市場)," offering a variety of local products, including the village's specialty "village tea," original products made with village tea, and fresh vegetables harvested locally. Additionally, there is a "Village General Store" selling essential items such as food seasonings and daily necessities, and the "Village Tea House" offers takeout desserts made with village tea. The cafeteria "Village Local Cuisine Tsuchinoubu (村風土食堂つちのうぶ)" allows visitors to experience the village's culinary culture. The best-selling item at the "Village Tea House" is the "Village Matcha Soft Serve," made with 100% spring-harvested matcha and drizzled with a special matcha syrup for a richer flavor. At "Village Local Cuisine Tsuchinoubu," lunch features soba noodles made with a generous amount of high-quality spring-harvested matcha, as well as a pork stew rice bowl served to the tea farmers and staff.

The attached dining hall offers meals made with local ingredients, and diners can enjoy a view of the tea fields while eating.
