📖 Details

Gyutan restaurant Rikyu was established in 1987 (Showa 62). Currently, it has about 80 branches in Japan, and its delicious flavors are widely loved by the people of Miyagi Prefecture and throughout Japan. Lunch primarily features gyutan set meals, while in the evening, it offers izakaya-style dishes. At Rikyu, the outer skin of the gyutan is removed with a kitchen knife, and knife marks are made for aging, all done by skilled chefs. The thickness of the meat slices, the amount of salt, and the aging process are all carefully calculated by the chefs before being served, ensuring that each branch offers consistently high-quality gyutan. The various meticulously prepared delicious gyutan, grilled over charcoal, exudes a wonderful aroma, making it a perfect dish to accompany rice or sake. In addition to gyutan, another specialty of the restaurant is its dishes made from Miyagi seafood and seasonal vegetables. To cater to those who do not eat gyutan, a variety of dishes are offered, making it suitable for families to dine together and highly praised when paired with local sake from Miyagi.
