🎨 Attraction Gallery
📝 Introduction
From the summit of the revered Lingfeng Mountain, one can take in the breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea.
📖 Details
Misen is located in the central part of Miyajima, an island in Hiroshima Prefecture, and has long been revered as a "sacred island." Since its establishment by the monk Kōbō Daishi in 806, it has been a highly respected spiritual peak of mountain worship. The original forest of Misen still retains an unspoiled natural environment and, along with the "Itsukushima Shrine," has been registered as a World Heritage Site.
At an elevation of 535 meters, visitors can reach the summit either by walking or taking the "Miyajima Ropeway" followed by a short hike. If walking to the top, it typically takes about 90 to 120 minutes depending on the hiking trail; taking the ropeway involves transferring twice and then walking for about 30 minutes. Along the way, hikers will pass significant sites such as the "Misen Hondo," founded by Kōbō Daishi, and the "Misen Seika-dō," which houses an eternal flame.
Although the path to the summit is undulating, the view from the Misen observation deck is breathtaking. On a clear day, one can see the panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea islands and even the mountain ranges of Shikoku. Additionally, the mysterious large rocks and strange stones scattered around the summit are also well-known energy spots.
