📝 Introduction

A large DRIVE-IN facility that showcases the charm of Kagoshima.

📖 Details

Kagoshima's symbol, Sakurajima, still boasts spectacular smoke eruptions today. The Sakurajima Product Pavilion is the largest DRIVE-IN on Sakurajima. It features a scenic restaurant that can accommodate 500 diners, a shop selling Kagoshima specialties and souvenirs, and an observation deck with a distant view of Sakurajima. The shop on the first floor is filled with various classic souvenirs and local products, such as Satsuma-age and sweet potato snacks. There is also a shochu section selling a variety of brand liquors, along with Yakusugi crafts and products made from Sakurajima volcanic ash and lava, offering a wide range of options. On the second floor, the large scenic restaurant allows diners to enjoy meals while admiring the majestic Sakurajima and the tranquil Kinko Bay. The restaurant's signature dish, "Tonkotsu Nabe," is a stew made with shochu, brown sugar, and barley miso, simmered for three days. The "Lava Curry" and "Satsuma Set Meal," both served with generous portions of "Tonkotsu Nabe," are popular menu items. At the observation deck, where visitors can get a close-up view of Sakurajima, there are giant Sakurajima white radish decorations and a monument with poems from the Meiji Restoration patriots, perfect for photos. Many tourists specifically visit the observation deck to capture commemorative photos of their Sakurajima journey.
