🗺️ Nakayama Daifujin

Located in the heart of Nakayama Kumano Shrine in Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Nakayama Wisteria" is a wisteria trellis that is approximately 300 years old. Spanning an area of 350 tsubo, this wisteria trellis is designated as a natural monument of the prefecture, and every spring, the blooming wisteria creates a spectacular scene resembling purple curtains. Surrounded by a faintly sweet fragrance and a dreamy atmosphere, the wisteria trellis feels like another world. Every year, during the flowering season from mid to late April, the "Nakayama Wisteria Festival" is held. The event features a variety of activities, including jazz performances and the sale of local specialties, allowing visitors to enjoy a truly healing and leisurely time under the wisteria trellis. Don't miss the night illumination, scheduled to take place after sunset until 9 PM. The wisteria illuminated by lights presents a romantic appearance that is different from the daytime. Additionally, in the nearby Kiyomizuyama Peony Garden in Miyama City, around the same period, 80 varieties of 2,500 peonies are in bloom. There is a free shuttle bus connecting the two locations, making it efficient to visit both "Nakayama Wisteria" and "Kiyomizuyama Peony Garden" and fully appreciate the beautiful spring scenery of Fukuoka.
