🎨 Guide Gallery
📝 Introduction
The cute retro cable car takes about 10 minutes from downtown Kobe to reach the top of Mount Rokko!
📖 Details
The Rokko Cable Car opened in Showa 7 (1932). With a height difference of about 500 meters and a total length of approximately 1700 meters, the cable car travels from the "Rokko Cable Car Lower Station" at the foot of the mountain to the "Rokko Mountain Upper Station" in about 10 minutes.
There are two types of cabins: the "Classic Type," which is primarily red, and the "Retro Type," which is primarily green. Both have two cabins, with the lower cabin designed as a scenic car featuring a glass roof for better views of the surrounding scenery. The Rokko Cable Car Lower Station, designed in a mountain lodge style, and the Rokko Mountain Upper Station, which retains its original appearance from the time of opening, are both beloved for their vintage atmosphere.
Next to the Rokko Mountain Upper Station, there is an observation deck that overlooks the city of Kobe and its beautiful night view. Additionally, in front of the station, there are routes to the "Rokko Forest Sound Museum," "Rokko Garden Terrace," a cable car station heading towards Arima Onsen, as well as the popular "Rokko Mountain Upper Bus" for attractions on Rokko Mountain, and the "Rokko Maya Sky Shuttle Bus" that circles the Maya Mountain area. Serving as a gateway for sightseeing in Rokko Mountain, the convenience is excellent.
