📜 Restaurant Details
A Chinese restaurant located just one street away from the main street "Isezakichō Shopping Street," which once thrived in the center of Yokohama. Since its opening in the 7th year of Taisho (1918), it has become well-known nationwide for its local delicacy "Nama Mamen." The nostalgic atmosphere inside the restaurant evokes the Showa era, and it is not only loved by locals but also attracts many customers from afar, with a wall adorned with signed boards from famous personalities.
"Nama Mamen" refers to a dish made by stir-frying bean sprouts, cabbage, black fungus, carrots, onions, spinach, and pork, then thickening it to suit Japanese tastes and preferences. Currently, the best-selling item is the "Sanma Wonton Noodle," developed by the second-generation owner. Additionally, mixed noodles, stir-fried leeks with pork liver, handmade shumai, fried wontons, and scallion noodles are also very popular.
When it first opened, it was named "Sangoku Ryori," representing Western, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. Back then, there was a doorman to greet guests. Although noodle dishes have become mainstream near the station now, due to its historical influence, the menu still includes curry rice and oyakodon. This Chinese restaurant, filled with the history of Yokohama, is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from JR "Kannai" Station. Furthermore, the restaurant has a branch at the East Exit Porta of "Yokohama" Station, which has been quite popular since its opening in the underground shopping area.
