📖 Details
The Charles M. Schulz Museum is located in Santa Rosa, California, USA. The only official branch of the Schulz Museum in the world is the Snoopy Museum, located in Minami-Machida, Tokyo. In 2016, the Schulz Museum opened its first global branch in Roppongi, Tokyo, as a limited-time exhibition. After attracting over 1.3 million visitors in just two and a half years, it closed as scheduled in 2018. Then, in December 2019, it reopened in a renovated space within "Grandberry Park" in Minami-Machida, much to everyone's anticipation.
The fully updated museum is a four-story building, with an expanded space approximately twice the size of the original. It features exhibitions such as the "Charles Schulz Exhibition," the "Peanuts Exhibition," and a permanent exhibit called the "SNOOPY ROOM," which includes an 8-meter-long Snoopy figure titled "SLEEPYING SNOOPY," as well as themed exhibitions that change every six months, showcasing original artwork, antique merchandise, and unpublished stories.
In the "SNOOPY ROOM," there is a paid service that allows fans to take photos from a top-down perspective with "SLEEPYING SNOOPY," which is very popular among visitors. The museum also features the "Brown Store," which sells original merchandise, and has well-planned offerings. Next door, the "PEANUTS Café" provides picnic basket sets designed for light meals and dishes linked to the themed exhibitions. There are also exclusive products available only at the Minami-Machida Snoopy Museum that fans of Snoopy should not miss.
