🗺️ Echizen Matsushima Aquarium

In the aquarium themed around "watching, touching, and joyful learning," there are many unique exhibits that both adults and children enjoy. At the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium, you can touch giant octopuses, stingrays, starfish, and friendly marine creatures like the Japanese wobbegong, wrinkled-lipped shark, eels, crabs, and shrimp. During the summer, the "Water Play Pool" allows you to enjoy splashing around with up to 1,000 marine animals. Daily activities include dolphin shows, interactive sessions where you can watch adorable seals being fed, and close encounters with Humboldt penguins waddling around. The "Ocean Grand Tank," where schools of sardines create a spectacular scene, is also a must-see. Additionally, walking on the glass floor covered with coral reefs in the "Floating Experience" area and viewing penguins swimming gracefully through the "Underwater Tunnel" as if flying are highlights not to be missed. The aquarium regularly hosts various special experience events, such as tide pool organism observation sessions or overnight stays at the aquarium (group reservations only), all of which require prior booking.
