The aquarium located at Kagoshima Port offers a magnificent view of Sakurajima, the symbol of Kagoshima, across Kinko Bay. Inside, there is the only "Kuroshio Large Tank" in Kyushu, which houses fish such as whale sharks, tuna, and bonito that swim along with the Kuroshio Current. It also showcases about 800 species and 10,000 individuals of marine life inhabiting the waters of Kinko Bay and the southwestern islands of Kagoshima. In the dolphin pool, there is a program called "Dolphin Time" that introduces dolphin ecology, and the outdoor waterway connected to Kinko Bay features "Outdoor Dolphin Shows." The performances of wild dolphins jumping in the sea are not to be missed. Additionally, there are feeding sessions for whale sharks and seals, as well as guided tours within the aquarium, offering a variety of enriching activities. The "Night Aquarium," which extends its opening hours during Golden Week and summer vacation, is also quite popular. From the observation hall and restaurant, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Kinko Bay and Kagoshima Port. If you get tired from exploring, you can take a break at the scenic restaurant.
