The streetcar moves slowly through the streets; parallel to the streetcar tracks from the departure station to the terminal station is the San'no-Wheel Ginza Shopping Street. Since its opening in the Taisho era, it has always exuded vitality and is beloved by the local community under the name "JOYFUL San'no-Wheel Shopping Street." On both sides of the 400-meter-long shopping street, there are over 90 diverse shops lined up, including fresh meat shops, fruit and vegetable stores, dried goods shops, bakeries, miso shops, clothing stores, stationery shops, and cafes, as well as popular Chinese restaurants. In the delicatessens that emit enticing aromas and stimulate the appetite, you can buy fried tempura at the most economical prices, making it perfect for eating on the spot. San'no-Wheel Shopping Street is filled with a retro atmosphere reminiscent of downtown life and is often chosen as a filming location for television dramas, advertisements, or movies. It gained fame as the filming site for Hiroshi Kurosawa's film "Shoplifters" (released in 2018), which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
