🗺️ Patriotic Station - Happiness Station

📝 Introduction

A station with a unique name that can bring happiness.

📖 Details

Aikoku Station and Shukufuku Station are located in Tokachi, Hokkaido. After purchasing a ticket, it will be printed with the phrase "From the Land of Love to Happiness," which is regarded as a symbol of love coming true and good fortune, gaining popularity in the 1970s. Although the stations are no longer in use due to discontinued lines, they remain popular tourist attractions for couples. Aikoku Station retains the station building and tracks from when trains were still in operation. Inside the station building, there are displays of tickets issued at that time, informational boards, and uniforms of station staff. There is also a powerful steam train on the tracks that attracts even those who are not railway enthusiasts. The square in front of the station features a heart-shaped fountain and a large decoration of the "Ticket to Happiness," making it an ideal photo spot. About 12 kilometers away, Shukufuku Station preserves two diesel-powered trains that were used in the past, along with a wooden station building and platform, which are now used as a plaza. For those looking to add a romantic memory to their trip, there is also the "Shukufuku Station Happy Ceremony" wedding experience activity, inspired by the station's name (reservation required). It is highly recommended to visit both stations in one trip.
