The hot spring area, said to have been established by the renowned monk Kōbō Daishi during the Heian period in 808, has a history of over 1200 years. Some books also record that the famous Warring States general Takeda Shingen often visited this place to heal from the fatigue or injuries of battle. The hot spring street features a variety of accommodation options, including hotels with beautiful Japanese gardens and long-established inns. Guests staying at these accommodations receive a "Yumeguri Tegata," which allows them to visit other inns to enjoy their hot springs (additional fees apply). It is recommended to take advantage of this offer and fully enjoy the unique hot springs. Additionally, there is a free bicycle rental service available for guests, making it convenient to travel between different inns for hot spring bathing (reservation required). There are numerous sightseeing spots nearby, including "Shiozawa-ji," affectionately nicknamed "Jizō-san" by locals, and "Shōsenkyō," renowned as "Japan's most beautiful gorge" and designated as a national special scenic spot. Also, there is "Takeda Shrine," which is dedicated to Takeda Shingen and is believed to bring victory.
