Located in the Takao area of Hachioji City, Tokyo, this facility conducts research on plant and animal ecology. The park consists of the "Forest Science Museum," which introduces research content, the "Tree Garden," where approximately 500 species of trees can be observed, and the "Cherry Blossom Preservation Forest," which spans an area of 8 hectares. The most noteworthy attraction is the "Cherry Blossom Preservation Forest," which has the largest variety of cultivated cherry blossoms in the country. It is home to about 1,800 cherry trees, including varieties that have been cultivated since the Edo period and replicas of cherry trees designated as national natural monuments, preserving valuable cherry tree genetics.
